From the first version of the JAS-39A/B, which all have been upgraded to C/D standard, to the newer factory delivered JAS-39C/D all along towards the newest JAS-39E, the SAAB Gripen family is Swedens only and most important fighter jet. Key features include short take-off and landing (STOL) capabilities reinforced landing gear and high-mounted intakes to deflect debris.
