@emmamingfuller: the day i became a daughter. 🤍 for years, this day felt like it was about me but i didn't fully understand what it meant. but now i do. this is my adoption footage. the real, raw moment from the day everything changed — not just for me, but for all of us. watching it back, i don't see a little kid getting something. i don't see a little kid being adopted. i see a family being built. i see my parents choosing me, showing up for me, and loving me in a way i've spent my whole life trying to live up to. my parents have gone above and beyond in ways i could never fully put into words. they've loved me unconditionally — not because they had to, but because they wanted to. that kind of love isn't something you take for granted once you really understand it. and i understand it now. this day also quietly holds something else for me. somewhere out there, my biological parents won't know today's date. they won't know what day i found my family. but sometimes i wonder if they think about me — on any day, in any quiet moment. i think about them too. not with sadness, but with something softer. i hope they're okay. i hope they know i'm okay. more than okay. i'm sharing this footage because it deserves to exist in the world. because adoption stories are real and messy and beautiful and worth telling. because someone out there might need to see that love can find you in the most unexpected ways. to my parents — thank you for making this the most meaningful day of my life. i love you more than this caption could ever say. 🤍 #adoptionstory #adoption #internationaladoption #transracialadoption #onechildpolicy
