@jamilaodonnell_: I felt vulnerable posting this, especially with everything happening in the world right now and what happened last week. But I don't want to be scared of the patriarchy. The problem is that some people - mostly men, can't see this as art and instead put it into a box. I don't want to live in fear, hiding my body or myself. We're all human. We all have bodies - boobs, butts, everything. I've always been ashamed of my chest because I was sexualized and catcalled from a young age, even when I was just wearing a bikini or something simple. This year, l even booked an appointment for a breast reduction because of that trauma. I thought maybe if they were smaller, it would stop. But the truth is, people will sexualize you no matter what. The problem isn't my body, it's how it's seen.
