I was a caterer until last summer when I made the decision to close my doors. 2 major reasons: Tariffs and healthcare costs. How is a small business supposed to work when at the whim of the mad king, a case of avocados just doubled in cost. I had an amazing ACA plan that covered me and my family which is today 7 times more expensive than it was 4 months ago. How are mom and pop food business that care about the quality of the food they serve supposed to survive in this?

I got subway for the first time in years a few months ago and it was mostly just bread 😭 they literally counted the cucumber slices and stopped at 7.

I actually worked at Subway for quite a while 20 years ago. They haven't changed the meat or bread. They just raised the cost anyway. I didn't know how people could afford it back then, but now I really don't. And now you also have to ask for extra toppings to get a normal amount. 😑
