It’s 1000% a marketing move but it’s over done and annoying now. Also, I don’t think they want to pay the up front costs for the inventory and then risk not being able to sale it.

Set active is a horrible brand. Last year after every drop “sold out” she would come on here and say “we’ll do better next time. We didnt expect this many orders”. It’s absolute BS. They have the data to know how many people are going to order.

They do it on purpose. They don't want to have to hold inventory. There's a cost to store it, especially a lot of it. If they don't sell it, they feel it's wasted money. And the scarcity of the inventory on each drop creates a feeling of limited edition so people want to try harder to get it. And feel as though they've "succeeded" when they do get it. It's totally on purpose

The way since I’ve discovered set maybe last year EVERY drop is the same. Everything sells out and the owner comes out and says sorry we didn’t know how much to order or how much demand we’d have. Like girly at what point do you realize your brand is in demand and people want to buy? I’m actually over the brand. Because this tactic is annoying

It’s a tactic it’s just a way to make us spend more money because people shop more when they know items are limited edition and will sell out fast. The only way this would stop is if we all as consumers stopped buying into it

Sold out drop is an amazingggg for your FIRST or even second drop… after that you need to plan accordingly but brands think being “exclusive” is better. No it makes me not even want to try 😭

It’s literally the same with Oner active. She says she’ll have more inventory and never does. The stuff sells out in less than 5 minutes and it’s so frustrating because they’re the only brand I like for leggings.
