@silverstormlayla: Don’t let anyone put limits on what your cat can do ✨ When we first harness trained Layla in 2022, I almost believed the people who told me cats aren’t made for walks. The truth is, the outdoors completely overwhelmed Layla at first. She was a shy kitten, and even though she was leash-trained by 13 weeks, the outside world was big and scary. It didn’t happen overnight. Leash training is really about building mutual trust. Layla needed someone to believe in her before she could believe in herself. I often think about what her life would be like if we had given up. Now, watching her move through a forest like she owns it makes me so glad we didn’t let her story end 🥺 To anyone currently leash training: go at your cat’s pace and don’t give up. You don’t have to start young, you just have to start! The world is too big to only watch from a window 🌲🐾🌿
