I haven’t seen my best friend for several years. We’ve been friends for almost 39 years. We talk on the phone every few months and can pick up where we left off in an instant. My other bestie and I were teacher wives. We had a forced separation. Then she took on a new role in our school. Then I retired. We still text/talk regularly, but not as much as when our classrooms were next to each other. I could call on either of these ladies and they would be there in a heartbeat.

I just drove 8 hours cross country to see my best friend, it was magical and so worth it. She came to visit me in my city multiple times last year because I got married and she was my maid of honour. Imagine having a friend and friendship worth travelling for, and feels like no time has passed when we see one another. Beautiful. ❤️

met my bestie 28yrs ago as students abroad ,we never lived in the same country so drifted apart as life took over & checked in once twice a year..fast forward to today. we are on opposite sides of the world and send each other daily video snapshots & are closer than we've ever been 🥰
