Yes its fine. If others are sensitive to an overhead light then they need to bring an eye mask. Just like if they're sensitive to noises they need to bring headphones.

totally fine. much better then using your phones flashlight and pointing it sideways. had somebody completely clueless do that across from me. it was horrible!
