@acquiredrevival: I’ve spent twenty years in fashion, and now being on the content side, I’ve seen both worlds. I understand trends, I understand why they exist, and I understand how the industry sustains itself. There’s nothing wrong with trends. The problem is how they’re being pushed. 🔸 Trends are being used as pressure, not inspiration 🔸 “In vs out” is manufactured urgency, not real style 🔸 The same item is “over” today and “essential” tomorrow 🔸 And you’re left feeling like you constantly need more That’s not style, that’s a cycle. And yes, influencers are doing their job. They’re creating, they’re selling, they’re earning. But at some point, we have to be honest about what’s actually happening here. A lot of this is clickbait designed to keep you consuming, not to help you build anything meaningful in your wardrobe. You don’t need to keep up. You need to understand what you already own, what actually works for you, and how to use trends as a tool, not a rule. I just think we can do better, as creators, and as a community. If you’ve ever felt pulled into this cycle, save this and come back to it before your next purchase. #intentionalstyle #smartshopper
