I am getting fitted next week for scleral lenses I went yesterday and I kept having bubbles when they took the lens out it hurt so bad my eye hurt for the rest of the day

I went to standard optical for the first time to get some glasses and the doctor looked at me for maybe 5secs stopped and said you need to see another doctor because you have Keratoconus and stopped my appointment to leave. I asked if I can atleast get some glasses because I had a 4 month old baby and I couldn’t see that great. Glasses barelyyy worked for me lol

I had to have the cross linking procedure, my case is much worse. So far the procedure is holding but they said to me that I will more than likely need a cornea replacement.

Do the lenses still have have prescription or are they just lenses and you still wear daily glasses ? I’ve just been sent to get checked for keratotomy’s cuz my opticians suspect it since my vision been changing almost monthly and she said I have all the indications to it but getting second opinion im so scared

I just found out I have this I do have to get cross linking and another laser treatment done and then contacts but happy to hear the contacts help a lot! Can’t wait to be able to see again haha

Don’t touch ur contacts with your nails that freaked me out. Better than my story my dr changed my 20 year old rx and I didn’t notice. 2 years and I keep going back saying something is wrong and finally look at all my records and realize what he did, got a second opinion and they said yup he changed it and it was not noticeable enough that I could tell the difference initially but it made my brain blur out my left eye and I was having neurological issues and tons of weird symptoms. I definitely don’t play about my eyes anymore.

I was diagnosed at 13 my first hard contacts at 15. I'm now being moved to Sclera lenses at 30 and will be referred for cornea transplant for my left eye only because it already has a scar 🙃 but mine was genetic my dad has it my brother has we got it from my dad.

Eye doctor here 🙋🏻♂️go get that cross linking , it wont improve your vision and you’ll still need the lenses but it will slow down the evolution of the keratoconus cause trust it will keep on progressing and you ll be exposed to complications
