@the_sourdoughhoe: Just got back from a few days in Miami where we’re from, visiting my in-laws and my injector. My starter was in the fridge the whole time, which slows everything way down, so all it needed was one good feed to bring it back and bulk it up for the week. If you need a lot of starter at once, just scale your feed to the amount you need and give it time. Bigger feeds take longer, but it gets you there without multiple rounds. And before anyone asks… same injector I’ve always gone to, I just bruise like this sometimes 💁🏼♀️
You won’t have more🤯 just divide the amount you need with water and flour🤯🤯 thank you!!

How do you keep everything clean without rinsing starter down the sink? I’m so used to rinsing my hands and everything as soon as I’m done with it and I’m having to use a big bowl and I dump it in my garden.

But if it’s just flufflier….and you take out what you need-aren’t you then working with less? I’m so confused…😂

Is there any other prep you do with your starter before going on a vacation? Or is feeding and putting it in the fridge the only things needed to keep it alive while gone?

Oh my God, I love watching you. You have inspired me to make fucking sourdough bread with my starter, but I’m new with this so I need to learn a lot.

60g starter, 570 w, 570 f = 1200 g active. That’s for 1.10.10 feeding … I always only do 1.8.8 so 80g starter, 560w, 560f = 1200

okayyy I find this helpful. so let me see if I truly understand (im new) I just divide what ever the amount i need for my baking and make sure to round up so I have left over. so I need 420g I can round to 450 and do 225g of water and 225g of flour...correct?!
