I couldn't stand AA. I tried it multiple times. Sitting around talking about my drinking and how helpless I am over it doesn't help me stay sober.

I hear you, I have done AA for the past years on and off. And sometimes I do like it, but then sometimes not. Because when I I messed up and have a drink, and I talk about it in the meeting. I definitely feel a shift in the vibe from the other people. I mean, they are super nice but, I just feel like I am being judged, even though they don’t say it. And I don’t like it.

I was a chronic relapser i lived in a meeting hall basically went to meetings everyday and would get 30ndays here 90 days there but couldn't get a year to save my life. I quit going to meetings got a stable job and all if a sudden I had a year. I removed myself from the program and now have over a decade clean and sober. for me it was so toxic and kept me in the mindset of always thinking about it.

If you don’t do Weight Watchers you can’t lose weight. If you don’t go to the gym you can’t do exercise. What the hell. Not everyone in life has to follow what others have done to achieve the same results. You keep being you and being sober the way that works for you as you are smashing it. That crown is perfect 👑 and you wear it well 🥰

We do AA. Ours says those who do not recover simply can’t be honest with themselves. Not why you said here. Some are different. I don’t agree with a lot of it, I take what I need and leave what I don’t. I’m almost a year sober. No sponsor and not “working” the steps.. just using AA in a way I feel supported and works for me and my husband.

Aa/na doesn’t work for everyone!! I been clean almost 12 yrs n haven’t been to a meeting n 11 yrs n when I did go it didn’t help. Everyone’s recovery is different

getting sober is only one part, it’s STAYING sober you should be putting your energy into rather than highlighting what works for many other people. You do you! And let everyone else do them

i agree!! the people close me to have been sober for 600 days and don’t like AA either- they’re healing, in therapy and don’t ever want to drink again 💞
