Our nursing home I worked at had a cat named Susie. She lived there and completely ruled the roost. Whenever someone was about to go she’d always go to them and sit on there beds - she always knew. She lived till 19.

Cat laying on you is also deep pressure therapy. Basically a weighted blanket. Plus cat's purring is also therapeutic.

my mom works in wards like this or homes, i come in as much as i can just to talk and or listen to people as much as i can. they are some of the best people i know. i hope she rests easy :)
