@dope_kitchen: This was the moment we regretted buying this Facebook Marketplace camper… … well, *one of* the moments. Before this, we took our camper to a local RV repair guy (regret #1, because his labor costs were outrageous and he charged us *thousands* for our roof repair. We still haven’t emotionally recovered from this). After the roof repair, we had to tighten up our purse strings because we did not expect to blow through our budget on these costly repairs. While we were stripping the wallpaper from the walls, we found this crusty, dusty old corner where there must have been a leak years ago. The wood was completely rotted. We treated the area for mold and ripped out all of the damaged wood, salvaging what we could and replacing it with strong new wood. HOWEVER, because we just spent so much on the roof repair, we couldn’t fix this wall the proper way. What we should have done is ripped out the outer metal panels to access the wall from the outside of the camper, but because the roof repair was done, we just couldn’t bring ourselves to un-do the expensive work. So we called Meg’s contractor uncle for some advice and got to work from the inside. Does it look a little janky? Sure. But today, the renovation is done, the wall has held up nicely, and you can’t even tell anything happened because it’s covered in new wallpaper.
