@raisingrainbowbrains: Most people will never understand the lengths that parents have children with autism, go to to make their home a safe and sensory friendly place. Most people will never understand what it means to make sure that you can go to sleep, knowing your child can’t elope. Most people will never understand what it means to make a safe that is so safe and sensory compatible that even on the most regulated days, it provides a level of comfort. Most people will never understand the level of creativity it takes to outsmart your ever growing ever-changing and brilliant child. But most people don’t have to because we do 🩷 #autismparents #specialneedsmom #neurodivergentparenting #parentsoftiktok #sensoryactivities

My son is getting evaluated for autism and adhd and he won’t go in another room without me. My house came with those kid locks but I’ve never used them.

in addition, we have a combo lock box in the kitchen that the heavy sugar items go in. We have had to change the combo several times because my ADHD ass forgets to relock it as soon as I retrieve the snack.

We've recently had TWO young, non verbal autistic children drown in their neighborhood ponds because they wandered out of their house, unbeknownst to their care givers. It's been utterly heart breaking for our whole community.

I absolutely need all of these lost everything having to start over but I purchased a home... this sounds awful to normal people but this is my goal for my children's safety 3boys ADHD audhd and autistic so spectrum is large in this home and having to start all over again the lack of sensory things is a struggle for me and them
