I found out because both of my children were diagnosed with autism. When I started all my research I said, “wait a second…” 😅

I have a friend that’s a psychiatrist, first time I met him he had asked me about my autism… I told my close girlfriend that works with children that are autistic in the schools, and she said he is wrong. Turns out, Im autistic and have masked so well she doesn’t see it, but he saw it right away. It’s been so validating talking to him about it, I feel seen and found the missing puzzle pieces of myself.

Can you do a video about what happens AFTER you're diagnosed? Like are there medications or something? Or just therapy?

I’m scared to even start getting diagnosed. Late diagnosed ADHD. I relate soooo much with research I’ve done on autism but what can be done about it? I rather continue to be treated for ADHD.

I'm AuDHD and I was diagnosed at 39. Isn't it crazy how when you reflect on your life experiences, things start to click and make sense?

I think I’m autistic but I’m afraid to tell someone. People just make fun of everything

What test did you take? Can you share what symptoms resonated?

I was diagnosed with ADHD when my kids were getting diagnosed. I was diagnosed with AuDHD when my kids and grands were getting diagnosed. It explains SO much. I can’t mask anymore, it’s too exhausting.

What’s the name of the test they had you take? I was always told that there was no exam or eval for adults when it came to autism 😭

when they tested me for ADHD i also tested as if i didn’t have it! but all the actual symptoms were there and i did end up with a diagnosis. this is my first time hearing of someone else neurodivergent passing neurotypically, thanks for sharing 🙏 also when we did my autism assessment 3 years later, i scored a 99% in camouflaging, basically expert masking 😭

But girl, what test? I’ve considered getting myself tested for so many years. But I don’t know if it’s complex PTSD or autism.

I was diagnosed ADHD as a kid and felt like my brain was at war with itself my entire life. TikTok freaking thinks that I’m AuDHD and so much lines up. Need to get on that diagnosis…

when I first deep dived into autism I didn't even think I had it 😂
The clinical description of the symptoms made no sense to me. It was folks on TikTok and YouTube that talked about their experiences and how those symptoms showed up. That when I was like yup, yup, yup, yup, yup. Finally it all made sense. It took me about 4 years of intense research and hyperfocus to accumulate enough information to finally realize and admit that I had struggled my entire life. It was a tough process but we'll worth it

I know! I looked into autism because my partner was diagnosed and I wanted to learn more about him and then reading the symptoms I was like Omg wait… this is me

I sometimes wonder if I may be on the spectrum. I have ADHD, but also feel that I have some artistic traits. I don’t feel the need to have the test done, because I’m in my 50s & don’t see how a diagnosis would help me.

Same girl!! I was diagnosed two months ago with Autism Spectrum Disorder (Asperger's), Dyslexia, and Chronic PTSD...so I have the hybrid tism where I have the non feeling tism with FULL blown Feeings because of the Chronic PTSD while also never being able to spell a single complex word eventhough I have a huge vocabulary.so am yeah I am still dealing with what is my Tism versus what is my actual personality...BTW it gets worst in perimenopause 😳.

Not me crashing out when you said I’m my own special interest. I feel that in so many ways. I’m not making fun of you, it is totally legitimate to feel that way.
I’m also AuDHD, and I’ve come to terms with it. It is what it is. We’re like a different kind of hybrid human. We have challenges on both sides of the spectrum, and we’re awesome.
Yes, we struggle. Yes, life is hard. But yes, we are indeed awesome.
Good luck on your journey toward self-discovery.
