He noticed vomit outside the car. The driver was Fiorella. Officer DeJesus talked to her. He saw signs she was impaired. Fiorella said she had a bad night. Her boyfriend was cheating. She drank at Kanela’s. It is a club in Elizabeth. Fiorella could not show her license. Officer DeJesus called for backup. He asked her to do sobriety tests. Officer DeJesus started with an eye test. Then came the Walk and Turn test. Fiorella did not step heel-to-toe. Her turn was also wrong. The last test was the One Leg Stand. She did not lift her foot correctly. She put it down too soon. Based on her poor performance, Fiorella was arrested. She was charged with drunk driving. Her car was impounded for 12 hours. This is under John’s Law. A search of her car found an open container. There was also a bottle of pills. Fiorella was taken to the police station. At the station, Fiorella heard a standard statement. She agreed to breath tests. Her blood alcohol content was 0.07%. Officer DeJesus gave Fiorella tickets. These included driving under the influence. She was also cited for reckless driving. Careless driving was another ticket. She lacked proper license and registration. She did not have proof of insurance. An open container citation was also given. Fiorella also received a summons. This was for possessing pills.
