A few weeks back, we had the opportunity to train with an outstanding group of firefighters, focusing on high-rise and mid-rise firefighting tactics using various diameter hose lines working in coordinated pairs. These evolutions weren’t just about stretching lines—they were about integration. Crews trained on: • Hose handling and coordinated movement with multiple line sizes • Fire suppression tactics under realistic high-heat conditions • Primary search coordination alongside advancing lines • Ventilation strategies to support interior crews and improve conditions Every evolution reinforced the same principle: nothing in high-rise firefighting happens in isolation. Hose lines, search, ventilation, and suppression must all work together seamlessly to be effective. From stairwells to hallways, from nozzle to command—it’s all connected. Strong work by everyone who put in the reps and continued to sharpen their craft.
