i saw Warrant live in 2000-2001 or so—by that point we were well into the era of a visibly aged Jani Lane who smelled like makeup, and it was FUCKING AWESOME y’all. Dokken: also amazing live.

IMO, Motley Crue, arguably the biggest hair band ever, was BAD live. So many other ones were so so good live and they don’t get that credit

80s hair metal had a vibe of "Yeah we all know life sucks, but lets have a party and enjoy it". The new era is so fxkkin good too! Crashdiet, Santa Cruz, Reckless Love...

Warrant should’ve been just as big as poison! Nothing against poison! Love them too..but them and Crue seem to be the biggest of the Hair Metal bands.

Def Leppard, Warrant, Winger, Poison, Dokken, Ratt, Skid Row, Slaughter, Bon Jovi. I get the cringe now. It’s so cringey. But living through that…they were rock and roll. And the guitars….chefs kiss.

Hair metal was all about escaping the crappy stuff in life, so they gave people stupid fun over the top music that made you have a good time
