Girl, do it. I’m 33 and been living back with my parents since Covid. Although it wasn’t my intention to be here this long, it has deff helped immensely. You got to live on your own for some years, you’ve seen what it’s like and now you feel it’s time for a change. Always listen to that voice! We’re getting older, our parents are getting older and especially since we don’t have kids of our own yet, this is valuable time that many don’t get- to build on a relationship with our parents as adults- view it through the eyes of gratitude. And if you have the option to relieve the burden of all the expenses it takes to live alone these days, I say take it. There are sooo many ppl that are struggling and don’t have that luxury and would give anything to have that option, but God gave it to you, use it! You’re blessed!

This play is about me lol . Desiring for a new season but knowing you still got so much healing and things to sort through before that change comes . It can feel exhausting . I’m 32 moved back home last summer . Told myself 3 month -6 months max lol but it’s been 8 months now and I’m just finally accepting this stage of my life and trying to focus on what’s important and my next steps in life while also resting and trusting in God . It’s not easy but therapy has been helping lol . I have a great mom and positive home environment so I think it’s been good for me and my nervous system . still doing the painful inner work and figuring life out . It’s a weird season but also necessary in shifting my priorities so don’t feel alone . It’s temporary . But I have a feeling it gets better . ❤️Keep praying to God and trust him in every step.

I left MD and moved in to my Dad’s in TX to go to nursing school fulltime (change of career) and save some money. I was 39 years old. Stayed for 3 years and am now an NP and married with my own home. You can always go home

When you move back have a couple goals want to achieve pay off debt or car, switch careers or go back to school and save money. Also it’s time to bond with parentals. I would still work both jobs but you’ll pay off bills quicker. I would take a vacation after paying bills down live a little we’re here for a good time not a long time ❤️

Multigenerational living is where it’s at if you can make it work. If it’s possible, build on to the family home…an in-law suite or ADU in the back. Or go in together and buy something bigger. Splitting costs helps everyone.

I did it at 45 because I was getting laid off. I didn’t want to be stuck in a lease. It was hard at first. But my Mom put me on her deed. We updated things together. I saved more than I expected. And my Mom’s and I relationship changed to a girlfriend fun thing. We have house meetings and it has been great. It will work out. 💕

I’m 29 turning 30 this summer, and just moved back in with my parents. This definitely isn’t what I imagined my life would look like at this point, but I’m trying to get myself back on track. I’m back in school, planning a career change and focused on becoming more financially stable.

Fellow bostonian here I agree its very expensive. If you have the opportunity which you do to move back home and save while being temporarily uncomfortable please do. Hope everything works out!

Girl, you are me! I’m 35, 2 jobs almost 100k, live by myself, burnt out, student loans, a little bit of cc debt takes forever to pay off because rent is almost half my monthly income, gas is $6/gallon now in LA. I don’t have parents or family i can go stay with so I’m stuck. I tried finding higher paying jobs and nothing. 😭 I’m so tired.

There’s nothing wrong with this. I’ve been living solo for 3 years, it’s hard and draining. I’m moving home in 3 weeks. It’s a temporary reset to push you forward

Thanks for sharing. I think u should move back with fam, save up and book Airbnb’s and hotels when u need you time. If you have a good relationship with your ppls then I think it’ll be a good way to achieve your goals and be more sociable

Do it. If you have a good relationship with your parents, it's a wonderful idea. Going home will give you the time and space to figure out your next move. I'm so grateful that I had my mom to hold me down after my divorce. If they are willing to have you and give you the space to figure yourself out, go for it.

I’m 33 & I never moved out . My mom hasn’t worked since she’s 50 because she has many health issues & my siblings & I help support her . I have a 3 year old & I pay her to watch my daughter, she uses that money to buy her medication or give to my grandma . It’s hard out there & family is everything to us Hispanics . Do it girl! It’s not going backwards it’s rerouting smarter 🙏💜

Multigenerational living is real, and honestly, it’s smart. There’s no timeline you have to follow, no box you need to fit into. Choosing rest, support, and time with your family isn’t a step back—it’s a strategic move forward. You owe yourself that kind of care.

Move to Taunton or Fall River. Boston is outrageous with these rent market prices

Sounds like you’ll get some financial freedom with zero risk at the end of the day if you decide you don’t love living at home, you can always get your own place again. Win/win.

My parents allowed me to move back in with them after college. I am so grateful because it took me a few years to get into medical school. Fast forward a few decades, and my parents are gone now. I am a trauma surgeon, and I took care of my parents in their golden years. I wouldn't be where I am without them. My children will always be welcome in my home. Multigenerational living is the way to build generational wealth 💕
