I’m going to Lake Tahoe for mine. I’m paying for the airbnb, and I told my bridesmaids I’m also paying for all the gift bags, no one pays for my meals, and I set a specific number for everyone to pay. If we go over that number in the case of groceries or what have you, I eat the cost. I’m already asking them to take time off work, fly or drive, and spend a lot of money, I don’t need to make it stressful for anyone

Is it just me, but I kinda think it is rude to have a destination trip to celebrate YOURSELF and EXPECT people to pay for your, meals, decor, drinks, etc. If your friends insist on doing so out of the kindness of their hearts then that is lovely. But to have this expectation for your friends and family members to pay for certain things considering they are already paying for the travel expenses to get there, to the point where they would actually be paying more than the person hosting the event, is ridiculous. And if people can’t make it, I think it’s weird to expect them to shell out a lot of money for a round of drink or whatever.

The thing is it’s not usually a friend group. It’s the bride and her friends who often don’t know each other well.

Advice on if some rooms at Airbnb are smaller than others? Should people who have to share a room pay less? Or should it be split evenly among everyone?

i highly recommend group rentals. for my friend’s beach themed bach party, we all rented seashell handbags in a bundle and it was so cute

I’m getting married this year and I agree with everything!! Why on earth should people pay for their own goody bags?!! Also decor should be no more than $15pp TOPS.

Omg finally!!! This is such a good rule. I’ve been to so many bachelorettes where I had to pay for my own gift. it’s so weird…. i’m paying for all my girls gifts as a thank you for taking time off work and paying all this money to come celebrate me

I’m paying for the Airbnb and goodie bags. For everything else we’ll all split equally (including myself!). I don’t think your friends should have to pay more for a trip you’re asking them to attend.

I’m so confused, everyone I’ve ever know the MOH takes care of almost everything. The bride doesn’t pay at all.

My bride tribe has literally paid for everything and my bachelorette hasn’t even started and it’s already been taken care of. ❤️Respectfully, they know I’m planning an entire WEDDING - they are OK with splitting the cost of my dinner😂

I’m glad I’m old we just had a night out and no one had to spend $1000 for a bachelorette party plus wedding costs. My assistant was in 6 weddings and has serious debt from it

“Easy international flight” oh we have lost the plot forreal 😭 if you’re making your friends catch any flight, especially one that requires a passport, you should be covering the hotel/airbnb imo!

A couple of other hot takes: 1. The groom should know to send a round of drinks, bottle, etc to the group (or a bridesmaid politely remind him). Makes the Bride feel the love (and also goes for the bride on the grooms Bach!) and 2. If a bridesmaid or close friend can’t make it (family, kids, conflict, etc.) also send a round a drink, a bottle something. Reach out to bridesmaids for how can contribute (I can’t make one this weekend and calling the dinner restaurant ahead of time to have a champagne tower sent)

Love this! Most bachelorettes I’ve been on, the rule has been the bride doesn’t take her card out once we get there! But any of the bigger ticket things that are paid for ahead of time she’s in the split!

this is exactly why i’m staying away from a bachelorette trip! it adds so much extra money that isn’t needed, people have to take time off, and there’s already a planned bridal shower. (plus my bridal party is not that big). instead my plan is to have a full spa day! massages, facials, the whole nine yards then afterwards going to dinner to a nice restaurant! this is just my plan, i think trips would be so fun but i also don’t see the point in overcomplicating it and spending extra money on a big trip 🤷‍♀️

Love this take on Bach parties!! I have been a maid of honor 3 times and have been to at least 8 Bachelorette parties so I am no amateur to any of this. They were all SO different and everything just depends on your groups situation. I finally had my own bachelorette party last August in Miami! We had a great group dynamic with finances. There were 10 of us total. I brought gifts for each girl, and then then they bought gifts for me. I did not pay for anything upfront—air bnb, activities/extracurricular, food, decor. Etc. I did pay for one outing for everyone, my fiance paid for our bottle service and I would pick up some one off bills at differnt places we stopped at. I think that’s fair!?
