Pensions are definitely fading out but in its place you can create your own pension. Look into what an annuity. An annuity is not for everyone but for those who want everything a pension can provide an annuity is something to look into to see if it fits your situation.

I was so dumb! I used to think my 401k friends had the better deal (and some might!). But, now I'm glad I will have a pension that comes with annual cost of living increases.

You know in the early 2000s while I was working like the 401(k) was getting so popular right and people were focused on that but he is the problem with the 401(k) versus pensions so when you get older and you take money out of your 401(k), it puts you in a high tax bracket and that’s gonna be a problem for a lot of people I think pensions are so much better than 401(k)s

Yeah no pension suck. I do have a 401k though. With mine and my wife’s SS and 401+stock we should be ok.

Same here, my parents and their friends also had RV's , Boats and would always do Retirement things. The Good Old Days.

I’m 60 and I retired when I was 45. I am so happy to be older because the way they’re doing people now. I don’t know if they’re gonna have pensions. I worked for the unions for 35 years and you know what I witnessed my white Latino and Asian coworkers voting against the unions and with the millionaire and then they would complain about the money, but they voted against the unions. It was insane and unbelievable. I just I’m speechless because it didn’t make sense but it actually does make sense because what I’ve understood and recognized is racism comes before their money their health they’re livelihoods proximity to whiteness is worth losing everything and it’s sad.
