@cryistalchaos: Replying to @BabyBleu_🍉 this is a 5 min long explanation that you didn’t ask for but I feel is important 😬 You can find the @Virtue Labs @Olaplex & @Matrix products on my website site or get them wherever you want. But the most important take away here is to do your own research and hair assessment and stop listening to people online who got their information from a Cracker Jack box. 🫶🏻 #hairtoks #olaplex #hairstylistsoftikitok #indyhairstylist

My stylist believes that olaplex 6 is the reason my hair all broke off on top of my head. We were working on transitioning from really dark brown on top of my head with purple underneath to a dark brown underneath and galaxy vivids on top. She had done a color remover with 30 vol, then bleach with either 30 volume to lift the dark brown. We then let my hair rest for 4 weeks. I did have some breakage in the front but not so short it wasn’t workable. When I went back I had been using the olaplex 6 for maybe a week, since I was actually washing my hair with a clarifying shampoo, in hot water (usually do cold) daily prior to my next appointment. Normally with the vivid color I wash 1-2x week in cold water. At my follow up she wanted to lighten me a little more before adding the galaxy colors, unfortunately my hair broke off badly on top of my head and continued to until now where I’ve essentially got a mullet and now I’m letting it grow. I finally said no more bleach and just went back to purple all over now. Only really looks purple on the areas my hair has been lightened but I needed my hair to grow, so it is what it is now. Right now I have 3 inches of length (maybe a little more) on top of my head when previously my shortest layers were at my chin. She said she thought I was protein sensitive…so interesting that it’s not a protein

My hair LOVES olapex. My hair has never been healthier. But everyone’s hair is different and not everything works for everybody. I wish people would stop fear mongering in general.

People are also using it longer than recommended! Some of the ingredients start breaking down after 30 minutes which starts to eat away at the hair. Whoever started telling people to leave it in for hours and hours or overnight are leading to “olaplex” ruining their hair!

I wish my hair liked it. the two times we used it, my hair felt.....sticky? gummy, weird. and took several washes for it to go back to silky. I do absolutely have damage but they just didn't jive together.

👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 at the end of the day a product is not going to make your hair fall out! If it did, we would all put it on our legs!

I've always been taught moisture and hydration can be used interchangeably. Would you, or a kind person in the comments, mind explaining the difference? is it the degree of hydration/moisture that changes the definition? I'm on the spectrum and I want to make sure I understand 😅🥰

As a stylist, I fell victim to these claims and avoided olaplex for years. After listening to you and educating myself, I’ve added it to my line up and have been so happy with it! Slowly educating myself clients and showing the benefits it can have! 💙

I am once again begging people to remember that olaplex is a specific treatment, not a panacea. And a lot of the times, what people really need is just deep moisturization.

I have never over processed my hair and have always used salon products. when i started peri menopause about a year in a half ago, baby let me tell you! my hair has been in the worst shape it has ever been in! its the hormone imbalances that is causing my hair issues! not my hair products or over processing. so yes, she is right people! it's typically other reasons as to why your hair is breaking or damaged 😁

The fact they are lowering the hours required to be a stylist is crazy! This is so informative as is all of your content. I know this is about Olaplex but all things hair is so nuanced and should be treated as such with the education required!!

Could you do like an idiots guide for what products you recommend for each thing, e.g which products are good for protein, hydration, moisture. I know you said it in this video but it's so much easier to have slides to refer to. Also how do you know if your hair needs protein?
