The chosen (along with reading the Bible & daily prayer) has brought me back to Christ. The chosen has definitely helped me on that journey. So yes, it’s brilliant to watch

The Chosen isn’t the bible and will never replace the word of God, but for me personally as someone who has had a life long relationship with Christ and has earnestly tried to study and understand the Bible, I will say, watching the chosen helped me immensely. The chosen humanized the people, places, and the events that I’ve read over and over again for year. It’s given them extra emotion, back story, and visual clarity that reading had just never gave me before. I think we tend to place the Bible in such high regard (as we should) that we forget the world was still going on around them at this time. Other people were living and other things were happening, this was all REAL life . That was my biggest takeaway with the chosen, I could finally SEE the men and women I’ve read about, I could see their suffering, joy, and even those little moments in between that might not have been mentioned in the Bible, but made them human. The Chosen will never be the Bible nor should it replace the Bible, but I do wholeheartedly believe it can be a great way for those who want to humanize Jesus and the disciples while also having a great visualization of this specific section of scripture.

I started reading the Bible and then heard about the show. It helped me visualize what I was reading. I loved coming across chapters I had watched. I’m still reading the Bible, in Numbers now, and am deeply drawn to it. I do think the show helped keep me engaged. Jesus is Christ, bless you all 🙏🏼

Its about as close as humanly possible, with the artistic liberties being necessary to make it watchable by a mass audience. Its made so well that it literally makes you feel you are watching it happen in real time. Extremely authentic, and human. People greatly underestimate the impact this show has had.

There are definitely some artistic liberties but what I think is most compelling about it is that is made the “man” Jesus so much more relatable. To see Him cry, for example, you are in a much better position to appreciate the depths of His love and sacrifice that reading alone may not completely convey. I was able to imagine better what it would be like to actually stand in His presence and hear the passion and love in His words. I get that from the Bible as well but this brought it to life in a way my imagination could not - and consequently my love, faith and earnestness in following Him deepened.

The chosen is really good, of course they took artistic liberty to show how close and comfortable everyone was with each other when you are around people every day you lose the casualties and I think it depicts that very well. I think it’s a wonderful interpretation.
