@5am.shift: stubborn belly fat is a cortisol problem if you've been eating well, moving your body, doing "everything right" — and the belly fat still won't shift — this is for you. most people blame their metabolism. or their age. or their discipline. but what nobody talks about is what's happening in your nervous system every single morning before you've even had coffee. when your cortisol peaks 30-45 minutes after waking, and that system has been dysregulated for months or years, your body holds onto fat around your midsection as a biological survival response. it thinks you're in danger. it is trying to protect you. this is not a food problem. this is not a laziness problem. this is a stress response that got stuck. the first step is understanding what's actually happening — because you cannot out-diet a broken cortisol rhythm. save this if your body hasn't felt like yours in a while 🧠#cortisol #StressRelief #neuroscience #cortisoldetox #neoplasticity #cortisolbelly

Hi, it’s Juliana! Many narcissistic parents make you feel like there’s something wrong with you for normal human behaviors. Things like: — Drinking water. — Eating food. — Walking. — Using the bathroom. These are not mistakes. These are not moral failures. These are not even choices most of the time. They’re just normal human functions. But they respond as if they’re unacceptable. Here’s the thing: The behavior isn’t actually wrong. What I mean by that is they don’t react the way they react because you’re genuinely doing something wrong. Yes, they might frame it that way. But the truth is the behavior doesn’t need to be wrong. It just needs to fail their internal standard. They’re not really evaluating whether something is wrong. They’re evaluating whether it meets their standard. So when you do something like drink water, it has to be: — At the right speed. — At the right volume. — At the right time. Things like that. My goal with this caption was to help you see that it’s not about right vs. wrong. It’s about their standards. Because the thing about standards is that everyone can have their own when it comes to things like eating, drinking, sleeping, walking, and other normal human behaviors. I hope understanding this helps you stop assuming that criticism automatically means you’re doing something wrong. If you need someone to talk to about all of this, you can always send me a DM or schedule a session with me. My team and I help people heal from narcissistic abuse, and many of us have experienced it ourselves, so we're here if you need us. To your healing, Juliana ❤️‍🩹
