@pleasure_as_praxis: Planing and executing are two different things; it gives us dopamine to plan, but we need oxytocin to execute with consistency and without overwhelm or burn out.
Fascia release massages are a great oxytocin bath for me 😭 I do them every morning as soon as I wake up, i literally do them while I’m still in the bed! It’s like I’m excited to wake up now because I know I will feel good 😂

She’s saying focus on the pleasure instead of the result. For example, if you workout, if you’re measuring things like how many calories you burnt, how much weight you’ve lost, how much time you spent working, maybe you only did cardio or you didn’t do an arm workout. Instead, you want to focus on the joy a workout can provide. Think about the last time you were actually energized during a workout because maybe the playlist was good, you danced instead of going to the gym, you worked out with a group of friends, the trainer was funny, things like that. 💝At the end of the day you don’t want to feel burnt out because you forced yourself to do something or were wanting a certain result, instead you want to be having a good time. Which will then motivate you to stay active or form a habit. Ultimately, I’d want to be tired because I was having a fun time not because I was in a boot camp.

I saw an executive dysfunction coach for awhile and every session I went in hoping to talk about how I could be more productive. Every session we ended up talking about how I was worthy of love regardless of my productivity.

This mentality was a game changer for getting over my social anxiety. It turns out a big part of my shyness was my shame around the feelings that made me shy. Feeling small. Feeling vulnerable. Feeling like I had something to prove. Once I accepted those feelings without judgement, it made it easier to just be. Turns out you can’t get into the rhythm/flow of the room if you’re out of touch with your own rhythm/flow.

(i think) she also means drop the “all or nothing” mindset, which helps raise your oxytocin too. as someone with ADD i figured this mindset out a while ago, i just thought it worked for me personally and didn’t know the exact science behind it. thank you!!🩷
