They are crane flies and they do NOT eat mosquitos. They eat only nectar or nothing at all as their main concern is reproducing.

Those are crane flies, their harmless they don’t eat blood or anything else except fruit and they only live for a month and then die, their like may flies 😁

That’s a crane fly, really common in spring and summer here, but in the last few years here in SoCal I’ve seen SO many more mosquitos. Didn’t even know I was allergic to them until about three years ago when they first started showing up and I got bitten. Now spring and summer is like Benadryl season for me 😭
