@from.thelodge: Saul Leiter 📸 I’ve been sitting with his photos this week and it’s already changing how I want to shoot. He shot through windows, rain, reflections - a master at using his environment to frame the scene and subject. His colour is never loud, just one small thing pulling your eye through the frame. And he started as a painter, which I think you can feel in every image. Most of his personal work was overlooked for decades until his book Early Color came out in 2006. What blows my mind is that almost all of it was shot within a few blocks of his apartment. You don’t need a special location. You just need to start looking differently.
