I quit a prominent office position in January to work in a cheese packaging factory owned by Kroger. I freaking LOVE IT! No Teams meetings, no Teams chat, no emails, very few meetings, 6 min commute, overtime if I want it. Zero regrets. I will be 50 in June.

I left Nordstrom after 14 years to go work in Death Valley NP. It was the best decision ever! 4 jobs/ companies later I’m PT for a major grocery store cashiering. I have all the free time for the things I like. Road trips. Camping. Hiking. Visiting out of state friends. I’d have it no other way. ❣️

I climbed the ladder and became an executive in design and construction of schools across the country. Then the pandemic hit and new construction of schools halted. I lost my job, briefly got into retail design but quickly quit. I picked up gardening tools, went around the neighborhood and got gigs helping my elderly neighbors with their gardens. Then I built them railings. Then fences. Then I got clients in other neighborhoods, cities and states. I built arbors, pergolas, courtyards, walkways, ponds, creeks and even a labyrinth. I’m currently designing a public amphitheater, Japanese garden and a small intentional community. Fun stuff.
