I quit a prominent office position in January to work in a cheese packaging factory owned by Kroger. I freaking LOVE IT! No Teams meetings, no Teams chat, no emails, very few meetings, 6 min commute, overtime if I want it. Zero regrets. I will be 50 in June.

A masters degree & licensed admin in social services. I knew I was going to die at my desk so I quit got my CDL started delivering new semis all over the country when and where I want and absolutely love it. I make more money and see beautiful places. Those high stress positions don’t care one drop about how hard you work for them. They’ll replace you in a split second.

I left Nordstrom after 14 years to go work in Death Valley NP. It was the best decision ever! 4 jobs/ companies later I’m PT for a major grocery store cashiering. I have all the free time for the things I like. Road trips. Camping. Hiking. Visiting out of state friends. I’d have it no other way. ❣️

I’m in my 40s and started working at an animal shelter 8 months ago. Yes, it’s 80% cleaning up shit and a massive pay cut, but the serotonin boost I get from being around animals beats EVERYTHING.
