My daughter was getting ready to smoke with her friend but I didn’t know. Before she even left, she came and told me “I hate that I can’t hide things from you but..” it was then I realized I gave my kids what I never had, an ear to listen without judgement.

my husband just told me i’m too busy trying to be my kids friend, and they walk all over me…. no sir. i’m raising humans who have a voice and can communicate their comfortability

Im that parent is also have life 360 so I know where my kids are at at all times. Plus my kids always call and check in. Everything ur saying is exactly the way we do things. My parents were the same way when I was a kid.

My kids know anything and everything about me. I've built the relationship with them so they know I'm a safe place. And we are 100% honest about everything. Sometimes they over share 🤦♂️

My son is 18 and he is the best kid anyone could ask for. His friends are all amazing, well behaved, and polite. They aren’t scared to ask for things, or take what they want from the cupboards and fridge. They all smoke weed, and never get in any trouble. Couldn’t ask for better friends for him. 🥰

I completely agree 💯 I do this with my kids and honestly I've gotten quite a bit of hate from friends that think I'm enabling this behavior. I'm still going to do what's best for my kids
