Let’s understand something very important here. There needs to be a balance when it comes to calling people out. It is not wrong to address error, but when preaching becomes consistently centered on reacting to what other preachers say or do on social media, it raises a question, when is there time left to teach one’s own congregation sound doctrine and help them grow in the knowledge of Him who has called us by His glory?
Rebuking has its place, but it must be balanced with teaching, discipleship, and edification. Consider this, if the twelve disciples, after Jesus ascended, had spent their time criticizing one another instead of focusing on the Great Commission, Christianity would not be what it is today.
In the same way, if preachers today are primarily focused on rebuking one another, each trying to assert a superior understanding of doctrine, it only leads to confusion and division within the body of Christ. Not every post requires a response, and not every issue needs a public rebuttal.
At the end of the day, what is the benefit of this constant back and forth? If it does not build up the body or lead to spiritual growth, then it lacks true value. Rebuke is necessary, but it must be exercised with wisdom, restraint, and a clear focus on edification.
