@travelsofsarahfay1: If you’re in Helsinki, don’t skip Suomenlinna. It’s one of those places that doesn’t feel real- like you accidentally stepped into a quieter version of life. How to get there: Take the public ferry from Market Square (about 15 minutes, runs all year, super simple). What to see: Walk through the colorful houses, explore the old sea fortress and cannons, stop by the museum included with the Helsinki card,and wander until you find a quiet beach or a rocky spot by the water. Good to know: About 800 people actually live here, there are no cars at all (just walking and bikes), and there’s even a hostel if you want to stay overnight and experience it after the day crowds leave. Why it’s special: It’s peaceful in a way that’s hard to explain-just ocean air, history, and space to slow down… all just a short ride from the city. This is my second time here and I love it.
