Andre The Giant was the nicest and most generous person I ever met.... I was a junior in high school when the WWF had matches in Cumberland, Maryland at my old High School on March 11, 1983, (the school's name was Allegany High School by the way), and the lineup for the event was: Jose Estrada who defeated Barry Hart Salvatore Bellomo who defeated Bob Bradley Pat Patterson who defeated Johnny Rodz Rocky Johnson who defeated Superstar Billy Graham Andre the Giant and Pedro Morales who defeated WWF IC Champion Don Muraco and Mr. Fuji I was 17 years old and part of the student set up and clean up crew for our school's gym and after we were done Andre took us to eat at The Holiday Inn's restaurant after he got them to open up just for us so they could cook us all food after midnight because he wanted to treat us to a meal for all the help we did.... He told us stories and DRANK A LOT and ate just as much, but was very funny and very kind to each of us the whole time....

My dad use to be shoe repairman back in the day and he met André and he said he was down to earth guy with thick accent but he was giant guy that he had to turn and bend down through the front door of my dad’s shop
