@mensactivemag: At 50, your body still responds to training. It just doesn’t respond the same way it did at 25. That’s where most men get it wrong. The biggest mistake isn’t training too little. It’s training like you’re still 30. High-intensity sessions every day, heavy loads without proper preparation, and overly demanding programmes lead quickly to injury, joint pain, or burnout. The body still adapts — it just needs a smarter approach. For most men over 50, the sweet spot is isometric work, unilateral training, and controlled tempos — no more than 4 to 5 exercises per session, three times a week. Between sessions, muscle needs more time to recover — and that window gets longer with age. Training hard every day without adequate rest leads to injury or burnout. The question isn’t whether you can still build muscle after 50. You can. The question is whether you’re willing to change what isn’t working. What did you change about your training after 40? musclebuilding over50fitness strengthtraining fitnessmotivation menshealth

68. Train for 50 years now. Was a competitive poeerlifter and body builder. Didn't change much. Still look good. Downsized 10 kg carefully.
The only thing that changed is that my power and explosiveness has decreased over time.
No injuries, no pains.
