Definitely use active recall and Feynman technique but how about learning the initial content? Like you can’t test yourself on information you don’t know. What are the best ways to actually learn information that you may be behind in?

I do really well with taking notes, if I don't write it all down by hand I will not remember or process any of the information. I read through the lessons and write and rephrase all the information for better understanding and then highlight the most important information within each concept. After doing that is when I do the Feynman method so that I KNOW that I can resite the information during discussion based assessments and recall it during quizzes and exams.

I feel like it's different on everyone. I pretty much write the whole course text book into notes and then study the text I've written. By this method I score the highest scores almost every time.
