This is exactly why I got locs. My hair is very fine and it broke off soooooo easy. I do miss my fro but I will never go back. Best decision I ever made ❤️.

My natural hair is soooo much easier to maintain with locks. i learned to truly love myself through locks. All I use is water and some Shea butter. I dont use conditioner just shampoo when washing. and I dont get my hair retwisted often. i started my locks with 2 strand twists and had 1 retwist a yr after I started them... its my biggest goal to also help us love our natural hair thickness frizz and all. its all beautiful 😍

LISTEN…….. I’m 33 months Loc’d but where the heck were you in 2013 when I first went natural???? THISSSS is what I needed to hear when I started my journey with 1 inch of hair. I should’ve loc’d March 2013 when I BIG CHOPPED. I had no idea what I was getting into when it started getting long and had to detangle. What a nightmare. The freedom that I have everyday is unreal. 🥰🥰🥰 I love this whole hot take because it is so real. All TRUTH. Locs works with Afro hair- not against it like most everything else. 🙌🏾

Love my natural hair and I wouldn’t call it difficult to maintain at all, just time consuming because it’s fragile and takes time. But I’m neurodivergent and although I love my fro, theres a lot of sensory issues with washday especially. I lowkey need a more low maintenance style which I think locs could be for me! And when I miss the fro I’ll just bust out a wig 😭
