My husband was doing this to me at home while I was working. I think he finally got the memo when I got him headphones for Christmas, and talked about moving my workspace into the guest room. Before that, I was deemed "too sensitive." If I'm not working I will leave the room when he does it. Fortunately I can work with chosen background noise (like Tiktok) but my earbuds were not blocking his stuff out & I can't stand multiple sound sources.

We need to discourage multitasking. Focusing on one thing is better for your brain. If they could prove multitasking causes early dementia maybe people would stop. We need an etiquette book for iPhones, earbuds and conversations.
