I also have issues remembering things so I gotta stay one step ahead of myself. Masks in my purse, in my car and in my desk drawer at work

When you first said masking I thought you meant the emotional kind, so glad I stuck around. I never stopped masking, and I don't think I ever will. I social distance, I keep my outings as short and infrequent as I can. I haven't stopped living like we did during the worst of it, but I'm still living restricted for my safety and my community's safety.

I used to never have pencils in class, then I got a pencil box and kept it in my bag (which is big & bulky & hard to forget) so now I never forget my pencils! You can do this for a mask. Make it more visible a bigger deal to forget it, helps tremendously with not forgetting

I genuinely thought you were talking about masking in the figurative way and I was very confused because masking in that way is incredibly exhausting 😂

YEP! I have severe adhd and I am unable to be medicated because of heart issues. I mask everywhere. I also have sensory issues but I find ways to make it comfortable enough to tolerate.

I forget my wallet, my keys, my phone, where I put important documents, every password ever... but I never forget my mask (I have a ton in my car as a preventative measure)

Yes. Kind of. I forget all the damn time, BUT that's why I have packets of masks and backup masks literally everywhere I go. I might forget, but something will trigger my memory and on it goes, because I know it's important

I'm also unmedicated w my adhd. have been since like 2023. I have nightmares about showing up places and realizing I forgot my mask, but it has never once happened in my waking life. turns out understanding the stakes of not masking means im more likely to leave the house having forgotten my underwear than having forgotten my respirator

I’m autistic, (with suspicion of adhd as well) and extremely sensitive to textures and stress. Also have allergies, fat, and get short of breath and overheated easily. And I have never once stopped masking since the very beginning of March 2020. Before the rest of the world even caught onto the plan. There is no excuse, you are correct.

managing ADHD is all about figuring out accomodations for yourself. also unmedicated ADHD, and guess what, I leave extra masks in my car, my backpack, my purse, so I'll always have one with me.

ya know what we say about people who have disabilities that impede on their (our!) ability to mask: they should be among the strongest advocates for all others able to mask

1000000%! My family all have raging ADHD and we keep masks in the car so they’re there every time we leave, and I keep extras in all my purses. There are soooo many ways to be responsible, especially with something this serious!

AuDHD and I've forgotten my mask twice in six years and I immediately went to my car to get one. Wearing a mask is the only successful habit I've ever had in my life.

leave the house: phone, keys, mask. Is the same thing as leave the house: phone, keys.

It's the acknowledging that they should be masking and people are right to call it out but no commitment to do better for me. 🙃

Yea as a forgetful person I’ve forgotten so many things from umbrellas to speakers to scarves but somehow…never the mask, almost like I don’t even open my apartment door unless it’s double triple seal checked and tightened and secured and I’ve done this for 6 years
