There is not a thing wrong with you, and it sounds like you didn't do anything wrong. It's very big of you to acknowledge her happiness, but she achieved that happiness in a way that hurt you - and that's just a fact. It's okay for you to be upset about that, and it's okay if it takes a very,very long time to heal... but I just know, even as a stranger on the internet (& quiet lurker of your videos) - that you have the self-reflection, the emotional intelligence, and such a kind heart, that you're going to end up exactly where you're supposed to be. A quote from my favorite poem: "You are a child of the universe. No less than the trees and the stars, you have a right to be here. As an 81 year old, I have found that life is amazing & never turns out like you thought it would…it turns out BETTER when you are looking forward. Small example, I started law school at age 49 & graduated & passed the state bar at age 52. Then at age 54 I adopted my 2 year old granddaughter & became a mom again….doors are never shut, just surprise you!

Nothing is wrong with you. You have the right to grieve a life that you wanted and now we’re never gonna have with that person. But you could have another life that brings you joy and happiness. It doesn’t need to have all the components that you listed. I also think that when we turn 40, we have so much more wisdom and we can leave behind things that don’t serve us anymore. Take your time to grieve. But also learn to love your life or create a life that you will love. Thank you for being vulnerable with us. That’s brave.

My husband's Foster Mom( alone by the way!) was 40 when she got him. Go get your baby. She was the best Mother in law and Mom we could have asked for. It's not too late.

I'm 45 and just met the TRUE love of my life 2 years ago. I had to go through the 1st marriage and see how poo things can get to understand just how fantastic they can be on the other side. Let yourself grieve, and give yourself time to heal. Life rarely plays out like we plan it to. ❤️
