WD40 should not be used on the plastic parts. Use WD40 silicone for plastic parts

MomofVelcro :
WD-40 is a petroleum by product. Which is like putting gas with a greasy residue on everthing. it actually starts to break down the plastics & rubber during hotter weather. Think of it like pouring/applying tanning oil on everything. Plus spraying it like he did;you still have to clean the over spray off the windows; what a greasy/oily mess. Maybe on a squeaky door hinge or something similar, ok. but anything else; No thank you, not on my vehicle.

NO wrong you shouldn't use wd40 on engine bay and plastics as it attracts dust and damages some plastics and rubber

WD40 will eventually dry out rubber and plastic. Using the proper auto detailing materials will work best.

I like the smell of WD-40. But if you want your dull plastic trim looking better than new, I put some -CERAKOTE - ceramic coating, trim restoration kit. It comes in a box with individual packs of applicator wipes, I usually put it on early spring, and will last until winter. NOTE. You will need rubber gloves and apply in a ventilated area, it’s well worth the money. WALMART has it. I’ve tried many different brands including a big se(CHEMICAL GUYS), but the is the best by far.
