If the credit union charges you 5.74% while they get the money at 4% but don’t tell you isn’t it the same? Your mortgage same thing? The lunch you bought for $12, they don’t tell you it cost $6 to make. He’s just so anti dealer so he can charge $1000++ to get the same deal you can get in 30 total minutes. But he’s the best Jerry, the best!!!!!

Sorry, I really enjoy your content, but you are 100% wrong when you say getting preapproved multiple times doesn’t hurt you. Most preapprovals come with a hard credit fall and it will hurt your credit score. Please correct yourself.

Credit unions don’t allow you to mark up rates.

I’m not saying you’re wrong but if someone did get a rate from a bank and that bank works with that dealership the dealership is not allowed to mark it up. They have to give them the rate that the customer got

Because the car dealership isn’t a bank employee. This is the same for a mortgage loan works the same way

Also, with many banks, you get a higher rate walking in than the dealer can get for you.

I personally think dealership shouldn’t be financing anything. They should be selling cars only.

The only input I have is I’m pretty sure a credit union will not let you mark up the rate. They give you what’s called a “flat rate percentage”. Yes, a regular bank will absolutely let you mark the rate up 2% here in the state of Florida.

My current loan is the ONLY time I’ve ever financed through a dealership, and that’s because I got 0% for 60 months through GM Financial. I’ll pay slightly more to finance through my credit union, whom I know will never sell the loan.

The credit unions give you $5% but their buy rate is 2%. This is just the way it is….if it’s not 0% then someone is making money from you, that simple

Have over an 800 credit score and the dealer told me my truck was going to be 7.25% because “that’s just how high rates are right now”. I said ok. And as soon as the bank created my account a week or so later I paid my truck of cash. The dealer is not your friend and they are going to nickel and dime you at every turn.

That doesn’t even happen with credit unions… all credit union rates are posted on their websites. So it would be pretty obvious to a consumer if their rate was higher than what the credit union published

So if you buy a gallon of milk does the grocery store tell you how much they make on that gallon of milk?
