I held off from the backrooms stuff for years because I was put off by some of the slop that arose out of it. I know I’m not unique in saying the way it devolved into wikislop “omg it’s level 99 watch out for The Killer and if you follow the rules you can make it out” etc etc is genuinely lame. I had no idea what Kane was doing. It’s elevated so far beyond anyone else in the genre. He has such a fantastic understanding of what makes the concept horrifying. I can’t wait to see the movie and I never thought I’d be saying that

After finally sitting down and watching the entire Playlist of Backrooms related videos he made (even those less than a minute long videos), I finally understand why the Concept is so fucking terrifying. That 40+ Minute video had me on edge the entire time, despite there only being like 2 Encounters with something. It's mindblowing how something so simple can be so terrifying.
