I think to modern mortality the idea of waging war just for loot and power seems awful and I wouldn't like to harm others but the relaxed nature of nomad society does seem appealing when compared to the modern corporate slavery

While nomadic life is free and pleasant. The description comes from lush summer season. Where the herds have plenty of grass to graze. The winter seasons in the nomadic steppe is incredibly difficult. Cold, no trees to burn for heat, no grass to give to cattle. Incredibly harsh. Thats why the nomads were so tough. Probably why we also eat horse 😂. Nothing else to eat in the winter cold.
