@joel_heidibuild: Watching this stuff in Japan makes you realise how far off we’ve drifted. In Australia, carpentry’s become just a job for most blokes. Just a way to make good coin. Over there, it’s not just a job… it’s the end goal. You don’t “become” a carpenter and then stop improving. You stay an apprentice your whole life. Just chasing better. Cleaner. Tighter. More precise. The money isn’t the goal. It’s the byproduct of getting really fkn good at what you do. That’s the difference. We wonder why standards are slipping here… but we’ve turned a craft into a paycheck. Maybe it’s time we start taking a bit more pride in the trade again. #japanesecarpentry #carpentry #craftsmanship
