@kaycharisse: This episode of The Pitt felt hours long in the best way possible, lots to unpack here, will probably make multiple parts but it’s 3am and I work in the morning SOS #thepitt #thepittseason2 #noahwyle #katherinelanasa #patrickball @HBO Max
santos admitting that she dislikes Langdon because he was mean to her vs. the drug stuff actually made me like her way more. very humanizing, for me. i reallt hope Santos can grow from this

I’m withholding my judgement on Santos until the end of the season, but last episode when he apologized for his actions towards her she moved the target and started talking about him needing to fesse up. But this episode it was about the way that he spoke to her. To me, she’s projecting her own stuff and just wants to be angry at him.

Langdon’s storyline was turned into cheap drama, and not even realistic in the slightest. For a show that keeps going on about realism, it was nowhere to be seen tonight.

i think there’s also something to be said about the parallels of joy leaving for her mental health and emma insisting on staying after her very traumatic incident. different people need different things to process, or some people feel the need to prove themselves more than others

I noticed in this episode it shows Langdon interacting more with staff in regards to how they are doing. With Dana, McKay, and with Mel through out his time back.

i was so locked in on the realism that i was convinced the hospital had to know :(

Yeah, diversion (taking hospital meds for your own use) is taken very seriously. But they offer people chances to recover- suspension of license, rehab, come back. Usually, they are not allowed to order or handle controlled substances for a period of time. But it’s not immediately jail or firing, especially in cases of addiction.

As a nurse, I can confidently say “everyone on this show needs massive massive therapy” is in fact the intended theme of the show

Not a fan of how they're playing Langdon's addiction (cover up vs. knowing) but I'll also wait until the season ends to have a full opinion. Kinda feel like nothings adding up with what we're told and what characters are saying. Idk I hope its clarified before the end. At the end of the day it is a drama I guess and I imagine a cover up would literally put multiple people's licenses at risk.

I do hate that Langdon's actions were covered up. I dont think it helps with the stigma towards addiction. But I still am a fan of Langdon.

Once again, great analysis. My heart hurt for Langdon and Santos this episode. I think McKay really did need a hug but as you said they all need major therapy and Langdon is the only person in therapy actively.
