@maritimeunionaustralia: Carnival Cruises refuses to let NSW safety inspectors and unions aboard to inspect conditions for their crews but in the same breath the company says their crews have nothing to complain about. If that was true, why does the International Transport Workers Federstion inspectorate have piles and piles of complaints from 29 out of 30 Carnival ships? The only vessel without a registered complaint is the one that hasn’t been finished being built yet. The types and scope of complaints the ITF and MUA are receiving are appalling; working  80+ hour weeks for a monthly wage with no days off, forced back to work when sick, cramped living conditions, disgusting food, undrinkable water.  It's high time these workers got the protections and conditions of employment that an ITF agreement would deliver and it's time Australian cruise passengers knew the truth about what goes on aboard these ships.
