@vulnerablylalli: Invisible symptoms like cognitive deficits/impairments, neuro fatigue so not show up the way people THINK. Society THINKS, someone moderately severely cognitively impaired would not be “functioning”. Well, let me be the case study to PROVE THIS UNACCEPTABLE MISPERCEPTIONS WRONG. Millions of people live with invisible symptoms, injuries, or illnesses and the general public had the AUDACITY to think “they know what it should look like”. Then… they have the audacity to mistreat us because of their ignorance. The medical industry is over here treating “average” as the bar and a patient as a “generality”. Can we please do better. Treat each patient by meeting them where they are at. Looking st them as a HUMAN, and listen to when they say, “no I am still not ok.” Too many of us are being discarded after becoming average. Higher functioning individuals like myself are devastated because we still feel very impaired and off from what we used to be, EVEN if we test “average”.
