Crazy what Google can tell you in 10 seconds... "The Triumph Rocket 3 has an emergency starting procedure for when the key fob battery is dead. You can start the bike by holding the dead key fob against the rear sensor, usually located near the rear fender or under the seat, to allow the passive immobilizer to read the chip."

these bikes actually have a bypass when the fob battery dies. hes lying about it not working. because there is a spot on the bike where you touch it with the keyfob and it starts up. similar to keytags for aparment doors

My fireblade has the key fob as well, they usually have a fail safe to start the bike if the key dies, check your manual

My Harley Davidson soft tail standard has a key fob, if for whatever reason I need to use my bike without the fob I can enter a pin on my dash that lets me use my bike without the fob.

sounds odd but push the start button with the fob and you may also get the manual out for it may have a plug to pull out to start it with a pullout key on the fob

Probably the one thing Harley did right was giving you the option to enter a pin with your turn signals if your fob dies.

Bro it’s such a shitty design but you can activate the bike in passive mode, take off the seat and you need to hover the fob where the key sensor is and it should start. Theres also a fob fix with the connectors by slightly adjusting them

dude. read the manual! you can start it without the battery as well. there's a spot under the seat where you have to touch the key and it reads the chip without battery. Also make sure the key is on, it has a button on it, make sure the light is green when you push the button

The fob for my rocket 3 has been dead for over 12 months. Hold the fob under the rear fender and works fine. You do get a warning on the dash the fob is out of range, but what ever

If the key is how I think it works if you press the button on the back, it should bring out a real key like a car

Most cars have a sensor you can hold the key fob up to when it’s dead. I’m sure the bike would have the same thing.
