Unpopular opinion: What a damn sht! All the development Max went through in the previous game and in this one was for nothing. She was starting to accept that things weren't her fault, beginning to accept leaving the past behind throughout her character development, only to be given such an emotionally immature ending as having her return in the photo because she couldn't save everyone when Moses explained to her that it was too dangerous. She was supposed to have begun to understand the consequences of her decisions and learn to live with the consequences of the decisions she made. Besides, I feel really bad for Chloe. Imagine having a girlfriend with a savior complex and a perfectionist who feels like her whole world is falling apart if things don't go perfectly, and wouldn't hesitate to leave you because of her selfish need to fix everything perfectly. Max deserved to be better written and have a more adult and mature ending.
