There was a group of builders at the bungalow over the road from my nanna when we all left for her funeral and I will never forget them stopping their loud work (we didn’t expect them to, the world keeps turning) until we had all left and took off their hats as we passed 😭 stuck with me for life such kindness and respect for someone they didn’t know x

It’s been 14 years since my grandads funeral and I’ll never forget the man who stopped on the pavement as we drove past, stood and took his hat off and nodded. I’ve done it ever since because that one persons respect meant more to me than he’d ever know.

Regardless of that man’s religion… he showing respect of someone loss. I remember when my father’s funeral in Ireland, when the funeral cars passed by the primary school all the children stopped playing and faced us and bowed their heads. It was so touching x

I’m Irish and I can’t physically walk by a grave yard without blessing myself, if a funeral procession passes I bless myself and if an ambulance or the fire brigade rush by I do the same. We should respect everyone x. He was definitely raised right xx.

My Nan is from the middle of nowhere in the countryside. We drove from her house to the church - loads of us in our own cars following the funeral car. Local people came out including farmers to block the roads to prevent us getting separated from her or slow us down 😭they stood guard on the road side until everyone passed through 😭

everytime I see a funeral car i bow my head and do the sing cross. My whole street came out for my mums funeral and they all stood outside as it was full. Respect and kindness costs nothing. Prayers to you and your family xxxx
